Sequence-gazing is the act of peering into the genetic universe, much like gazing up at the night sky.
By observing genetic sequences we seek to discover the hidden mysteries of our world and understand the origins of life.

I am fascinated by evolutionary patterns in data and the different tools and methods we can use to explore them.
These explorations are becoming increasingly more informatic, requiring computational knowledge beyond what we may learn during a biology course.
This blog is my way of giving back what I learned working on various projects as a researcher in bioinformatics and phylogenetics.
I remember the challenges of finding basic learning materials and discovered others had encountered similar hurdles.
This space offers free resources, starting from the basics, to encourage learners from a wide range of backgrounds.
Please get in touch if you have any feedback, I hope this site is useful to you.
